SISter School™️: A Lesson in Kindness

SISter School™️: A Lesson in Kindness

SISter School™️ is my blog within The Inspired Empty Nest site.  What does SIS stand for?  Self-Inventory for the Soul™️, and those who've been along for the ride for the last fifteen years will know that everything I create is based on the principle of living a life from cause, rather than effect.

As I'm currently visiting my two daughters in Australia (woohoo! 🎉) and not currently 'working', I wanted to leave you with a collection of these lessons for the next month or so.

Speaker 1:

Hi, mums, and welcome to another mini episode featuring the Sister School blog from the Inspired Emptiness website. Today we're going to look at our lesson in kindness. The world we live in is all about two main emotions love and fear. Love has all those warm, fuzzy vibes like kindness, compassion and joy, while fear's got the heavy hitters like anger, greed and sadness. Now kindness, it's like a cousin of love. But it's not just about feeling it, it's about doing it when we choose to be kind and act on it. It's like dropping a pebble in a pond. Those ripples of kindness keep spreading, whether we realize it or not. But hold on, I get it. Life can be tough and kindness might seem like a distant star right now. So how do we bridge the gap? Well, the bridge is called gratitude. See the powers that be. They want us glued to all the negativity out there. It's on our screens, in our news feeds, everywhere. But and here's the kicker that's not the whole story. You've got to put in some effort to see the other side, where gratitude hangs out. Imagine you're in a dark warehouse with a flashlight, you shine it on, fear and it's all there. Then you pointed at love, and it's glowing too. Flip the light switch and you'll see that fear and love coexist. But where you shine your light is what you'll see, experience and share. Gratitude, my friend, lives with love. The more we focus on the good, the easier it is to feel gratitude. And when we're in that space of the heart, kindness flows like a river. When kindness flows, we're making waves that can change the world. The more people do this, the more love takes the reins. Now you'll do gratitude in your own way. For me, it's not in the traditional four walls. It's in my car, in my gratitude bubble. I talk to the big guy upstairs, ask for safety and soak in the little things that make my heart sing Old houses, fields in different seasons and those quirky alpacas that seem to be all around the area that I live in. I used to wonder if I needed to attend a fancy church to be a good person, but then I remembered a gem from the movie Eat, pray, love. Julia Roberts says God dwells within you as you. God's not after a performance. God's right there within you, within me, within all of us. So even if just one of us thinks about kindness and acts on it today, imagine the world we can create. As the seeker's saying we are one, but we are many. Until next time.
